Classroom training continues to be the mainstay
of many organisations' development activities
and the systems needed to manage effectively the
high value resources this function requires, should
never be overlooked.
BdM Development were selected to deploy and customise
Training Wizard to provide a central unified system
for a range of development activities. Whilst
in many respects, a classic learning management
system project, it included a number of enhancements
which are typical examples of the real "added
value" that we bring to such projects.
- Start up data within the system had to be
drawn from a number of disparate sources in
a variety of formats, but be seen within the
new LMS as a unified, consistent "whole"
- We developed a system interface with the existing
SAP HR via a Data Warehouse to share essential
Human Resources information; Training Wizard
automatically updates it self with the daily
changes to staff roles and departments that
occur within the organisation, whilst essential
training and financial data is made immediately
available to the related legacy systems
- The most effective way of distributing and
recovering post-course evaluations was deemed
to be internal email, BdM Development therefore
produced an automated despatch and retrieval
system derived from the native "Eval Tracker"
functionality of Training Wizard to minimise
the administration involvement in this process
- A simple, effective Training Needs Analysis
module was added to support the internal appraisal
and review process, thereby allowing direct
input into the learning management system
