Planning and prioritising curriculum training
on the basis of key competencies is acknowledged
as an effective method of getting the very best
out of a training schedule.
BdM Development were asked to produce software
that would interface directly with the training
management system and create individual development
plans as a basis for both personal development
and corporate-wide optimisation of training delivery.
The result was the IDP on-line, a highly flexible
and robust tool deployed in over 20 European countries.
In brief:
- The application provides a collaborative tool
that allows managers and staff to work together
in conducting a personal assessment against
a skills and knowledge areas inventory
- Once assessments are completed, an internal
algorithm both identifies and prioritises development
requirements; these are user-editable to account
for external constraints
- Functionality exists within the application
to plan and manage staff development both within
and beyond the core curricula, including local
development activities
- Full integration with the underlying training
management systems ensures data integrity and
eliminates any duplication of effort by staff,
managers or administrators
